Battalion Chief - Steve Chikerotis
Steve Chikerotis is a 28-year member of the Chicago Fire Department. His background includes 18 years as a firefighter and company officer. Sixteen of those years were spent on Rescue Squad 2, a busy heavy rescue company that covered the west side of Chicago. The last 10 years he has been a Chief Officer and has served as the Assistant Director Of Training, Chief of Fire Academy Operations, and currently as a Battalion Chief in the 22nd Battalion on the south side of Chicago.
He is the author of "Firefighters From The Heart" (Thomson Delmar 2006) as well as several published fire service articles. A fire service instructor for 17 years, Steve has taught classes all over the nation. He is an on staff instructor at Harold Washington College, Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) and RICO.
He also has done a lot of work with the television and motion picture industry as both a safety officer and technical advisor. Including several major motion pictures such as "Backdraft".
