Battalion Chief Jeffrey Pindelski
Jeffrey Pindelski is a
Battalion Chief with the Downers Grove, Il Fire Department and is a 19
year plus student of the fire service. His experience ranges from
working on volunteer and part time as well as career departments.
He is the Western
Regional Director for the Fire Department Safety Officers Association
and is a staff instructor for the College of Du Page in Glen Ellyn,
Ilinois. His major fire service certifications include Fire Officer III
(NFPA 1021 Level IV) and Instructor III through the International Fire
Service Accreditation Congress as well as OSFM and National Professional
Board of Qualifications certification as a Safety Officer.
Chief Pindelski has
achieved a Masters Degree in Public Safety Administration from Lewis
University, a Graduate Certificate in Managerial Leadership and a
Bachelors Degree from Western Illinois University.
He is the coauthor of
the text: R.I.C.O.- Rapid Intervention Company Operations and is a
revising author of the third edition of the Firefighter’s Handbook. Jeff
was also part of the project review team for the second edition of the
Fire Department Incident Safety Officer text through Delmar / Cengage
Learning and has also been named as a member of their Fire Service
Advisory Board. He participates as a contributing editor to
Firehouse.com and is published regularly in several trade journals on
various fire service related topics.
Jeff has been a past
presenter at several national venues on the subject of fireground risk
management and rapid intervention. Chief Pindelski was a recipient of
the State of Illinois Firefighting Medal of Valor in 1998.
