William Trezek

William Trezek is a 16 year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department. He has worked on engine and squad companies. Currently he holds the rank of lieutenant and is assigned to the 5th district. William is a field instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute and has continually instructor the members of the Chicago Fire Department in Rapid Intervention. William is also one of the originators of the RASP system of search for firefighters and civilians. RASP (Rope Assisted Search Procedures) is one of the leading techniques in search rope maneuvers for locating firefighters and civilians in distress. It is practiced and incorporated into rapid intervention team maneuvers within various departments throughout the country.
